Cầu vượt ngã tư 550 với tổng mức đầu tư hơn 140 tỷ đồng do Tổng công ty Đầu tư và Phát triển Công nghiệp Becamex IDC làm chủ đầu tư.
Vị trí cầu vượt ngã tư 550 được đặt trên đường ĐT 743 là điểm giao giữa đường ĐT 743 và đường ĐT 743B thuộc địa bàn TP Thuận An và TP Dĩ An.
Đây là cây cầu vượt có kết cấu dầm thép đầu tiên tại Bình Dương được đầu tư xây dựng với kỳ vọng sẽ giải bài toán ùn tắc giao thông ở điểm nóng giáp ranh các tỉnh Bình Dương, TPHCM và Đồng Nai.

Cầu vượt ngã tư 550 được thiết kế vận tốc 60km/giờ, bề rộng toàn mặt cầu 16m, bề rộng xe chạy 14m. Cầu có kết cấu thép liên tục, bản mặt cầu bằng bê tông cốt thép – khẩu độ lớn nhất 40 m bao gồm 5 nhịp. Tổng chiều dài cầu 203,4m.
Ngã tư 550 nằm trên tuyến đường ĐT743, một trong những ngã tư có mật độ phương tiện di chuyển dày đặc, là tuyến trọng điểm kết nối giao thông giữa các tỉnh Bình Dương, TPHCM và Đồng Nai. Việc đầu tư xây dựng dự án sẽ bảo đảm tính kết nối và an toàn cho người tham gia giao thông.
Tuyến đường ĐT 743 là tuyến đường giao thông huyết mạch liên kết vùng, hàng ngày lưu lượng phương tiện đi lại rất đông, nhất là xe container chở hàng hóa. Do đó tình trạng kẹt xe ở 2 nút giao thông này thường xuyên xảy ra.
Ngoài việc đầu tư xây dựng cầu vượt tại ngã tư 550, Bình Dương đã triển khai dự án thi công nâng cấp, mở rộng toàn tuyến đường ĐT 743, ĐT 743B.
Theo kế hoạch, giai đoạn 2021 – 2030, Bình Dương có phương án mua lại một số trạm thu phí; tính toán xây dựng thêm một số cầu vượt thép, hầm chui tại các nút giao (Ngã tư Chợ Đình, Ngã năm Phước Kiến, …) để giải quyết tình trạng ùn tắc giao thông.
