Cụm dự án Cảng Quốc tế Long An với quy hoạch 1.935ha tại huyện Cần Giuộc, tỉnh Long An gồm khu công nghiệp 396ha; khu dịch vụ-công nghiệp 239ha, khu đô thị 1.145ha và đặc biệt nhất là cảng biển 147ha. Tất cả là sự kết hợp hài hòa của một khu liên hợp dịch vụ cảng biển, cùng các công trình phụ trợ, các tiện ích không ngừng được đầu tư, mở rộng, mang lại giá trị vượt trội cho toàn khu.
Đầu tư hơn 500 triệu USD vào khu cảng
Sau 8 năm thi công từ 2015, ngày 24/6/2023 đơn vị chủ đầu tư (Dongtam Group) tổ chức công bố tiến độ dự án và chính thức hợp long 7 Cầu cảng – Cảng Quốc tế Long An (tổng chiều dài từ Cầu cảng số 1 đến Cầu cảng số 7 là 1.670m) và khai trương dịch vụ khai thác hàng container.
Dongtam Group đã đầu tư hơn 500 triệu USD vào khu cảng như đầu tư hạ tầng kỹ thuật bài bản; công trình kho, bãi lên đến 1 triệu mét vuông; lực lượng phương tiện vận tải hùng hậu, hệ thống trang thiết bị khai thác tối tân; đầy đủ tiện ích nội khu; các công trình phụ trợ,… góp phần hiện thực hóa tầm nhìn xây dựng Cảng Quốc tế Long An trở thành “Một điểm đến cho mọi nhu cầu”.
Cảng Long An được tập trung đầu tư trang thiết bị hiện đại
Cảng Quốc tế Long An đang tích cực phát triển năng lực khai thác container. Trong giai đoạn này, Cảng đầu tư 6 thiết bị cẩu STS, 18 cẩu RTG được sản xuất, lắp ráp 100% tại Nhật Bản, từ nhà sản xuất hàng đầu thế giới Mitsui E&S Machinery – đơn vị với hàng trăm năm kinh nghiệm trong ngành công nghiệp nặng. Không dừng lại ở đó, Cảng Quốc tế Long An sẽ tiếp tục mở rộng đầu tư, không ngừng nâng cấp các thiết bị khai thác, hướng đến mục tiêu công suất khai thác 1.000.000 TEU.

Uỷ viên Ban Thường vụ Tỉnh ủy, Phó Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh Long An – Nguyễn Minh Lâm phát biểu chỉ đạo tại sự kiện: “Trong chiến lược phát triển hoàn thiện hạ tầng giao thông kết nối của tỉnh với khu vực lân cận, nhằm tối ưu chi phí logistics cho các doanh nghiệp đầu tư tại tỉnh Long An nói riêng, vùng ĐBSCL nói chung, thì định hướng phát triển Cảng Quốc tế Long An trở thành Cảng biển tổng hợp, đa dạng dịch vụ khai thác là hoàn toàn phù hợp.
Sự ra đời của Cảng Quốc tế Long An đã góp phần giải quyết bài toán logistics và là một trong những động lực thúc đẩy phát triển kinh tế của vùng ĐBSCL. Điều này cũng thể hiện trong Quyết định số 686/QĐ-TTg ngày 13/6/2023 của Thủ tướng Chính phủ về việc phê duyệt Quy hoạch tỉnh Long An thời kỳ 2021-2030, tầm nhìn đến năm 2050.

Trong giai đoạn vừa thi công, vừa khai thác, Cảng tiếp nhận tàu tải trọng lên đến 70.000 DWT. Hàng hóa thông qua Cảng đạt lần lượt của năm 2021, 2022 là 2 triệu và 2,2 triệu tấn. Dịp này, Cảng chính thức khai trương dịch vụ khai thác hàng container bên cạnh các mặt hàng truyền thống như nông, thủy sản, phân bón, sắt, thép, thiết bị máy móc, các mặt hàng siêu trường, siêu trọng.
